Mr. Church reunites mercenaries for what should be a simple payment, but when one of their men is murdered on the job, their quest for revenge puts them in the middle of enemy territory and against an unexpected threat.
While on a mission to one of the Expendables gets himself killed, which leads to staff on a mission to take revenge. But it is too much to handle? I was severely disappointed in the first film palettes mediocre pace, use CGI blood and unimpressive villain ruined the experience. So I was hoping that the second time around will be to correct these issues. I can safely say, they do and they did it in spades. significant changes are Stallone is back behind the camera, so he is more focused on his role in Barney and his brain is not split between two different locations. significant change though is tone, Expendables 2 not take itself seriously at all, nor did I, so I had a blast seeing what is ultimately a parody of the action genre. I can look back on acting, lack of story and plot because the film does not try to give you one. Its simple film with a simple goal. Get as many of these big guys in one film, do it guys flick with lots of action and killing and succeeded. major misstep in this film is the motivation behind revenge. bad person dies. behavior that we have killed off almost zero emotional connection, it would have made more sense if they had other characteristics that disappears early in the film. It seems that the goal was the only characters that these actors get their revenge, which makes it less engaging for viewer.I was surprised at how underwhelmed I was a step in the first film, here are more stylized and fun. step on the gas film from scratch and almost never lets up. We are thrown into the action sequence at the beginning, which is better than nothing original had to offer. more energy is stage director behind the lens this time, Simon West, who threw Con Air and more recently Mechanic. He understands what is required and take some action sequences wild. As I mentioned before, the film does not take itself very seriously and tends tongue and cheek about it. Its not afraid to ignore the camera, especially when Chuck Norris enters the screen and steals the show with the funniest line in the whole movie. The film is full of plastic one would expect from the videos. During the fight, one of the characters exclaims, Lets wrap this up he then proceeds to wrap chain around the neck and other characters choke him out. Another area we have a bad guy getting shot several times and every man and retorts Stallone, break into pieces. Finally, my favorite, says Stallone heads up the head and then proceed to throw some people. Yes, this movie is violent, so no worry about PG-13 rating. So what guys? Well, they all come back, some do not have much more than others. Lundgren is essentially comedic relief. Crews and Courture again get short changed and feel as background characters. Schwarzenegger, Willis and Norris both have deeper and cameos Van Damme finally shines as the villain. Van Damme really deserved more screen time. We introduced him, then we cut back every so often as he tries to steal its plutonium, then we have him fight at the end. He deserved more screen time, so his right hand man, Scott Adkins. All forms of art are more militant than big guns and military shooters since this is Stallone film, this is a great movie shot gun. They find fight sequences, but both think it might be a little longer. Especially Van Damme / Stallone fight. So finally Expendables does exactly what the first film should have done. His hilarious parody of the action genre and has non-stop excitement from start to finish. This film ultimately these guys who've been waiting for.
